Julia Ann Dempwolf, 87, of Springettsbury Township, York, daughter of the late Carvel and Julia Gibbs, died early Saturday morning, April 27, 2024.

Julia was born July 5, 1936, at the York Hospital. She graduated from York High in 1954. She married Newton Brown, and one son, David Brown, was born of that marriage. Later in life, she was married to Richard Schwartz and later to John Dempwolf. For the majority of her working life, she was a devoted medical assistant to Bradley Nicholas, MD. Julia enjoyed vacationing at the beach, Fenwick Island, Delaware, and the Outer Banks of North Carolina. She enjoyed collecting Muffy VanderBears and Christopher Radko Christmas ornaments. Late in life, as her eyesight was failing, shopping on QVC was a favorite pastime.

Julia is survived by her brother Paul Gibbs (Deborah) and a sister Kathy Katherman (Elliot), as well as her son, David (Patsy). She had one grandson, Adam Brown (Mandy) and four great-grandchildren, namely, Noah, Hailey, Dylan, and Leah. She was blessed with a large extended family and was beloved by her many nieces and nephews, namely, Amy Hall, Abby Long, Bryan Katherman, Aaron Katherman, Laura Katherman, Taylor Katherman, Jonathan Gibbs, Justin Gibbs, and Brady Gibbs.

Burial will be at Prospect Hill Cemetery next to her parents and grandparents. Services are private. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., York, is assisting the family with arrangements.
