Nevin L. Gentzler, age 80, of Spring Grove, passed away peacefully on April 30, 2024 at York North Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. He was the loving husband of the late Karen A. (Hoover) Gentzler who passed away on April 6, 2004; together they shared 34 years of marriage.

Nevin was born in Stoverstown, PA on July 25, 1943 and was the son of the late Melvin and Beulah (Lau) Gentzler. He graduated from Spring Grove Area High School Class of 1961 and proudly served his country in the United States Army. Nevin worked for Dentsply for over 30 years and enjoyed gardening, hunting, and especially the outdoors. He also enjoyed butchering with his family. Nevin was a member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Stoverstown.

Nevin is survived by his daughter Robin Gentzler; his grandchildren Devon Gentzler, Kayla Garrett and husband John, and Kayce Gentzler; and his great-grandchildren Gavin Garrett and Bristol Garrett. He is also survived by his siblings Fay Herman and Stanley Gentzler; and numerous nieces and nephews. Nevin was preceded in death by his brother Harold Gentzler.

A Memorial Service in celebration of Nevin’s life will be held on Saturday, May 4, 2024 at 11:00AM at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, 2173 Stoverstown Rd., Stoverstown (Spring Grove), PA 17362 with Pastor Dave Martin officiating. Inurnment will follow the service at St. Paul’s Union Cemetery in Stoverstown with military honors provided by the York County Veterans Honor Guard. The family will receive relatives and friends from 10:00AM – 11:00AM on Saturday prior to the service at St. Paul’s U.C.C.

Funeral services are under the direction of Beck Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Inc., of Spring Grove.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Nevin’s memory may be made to St. Paul’s U.C.C., 2173 Stoverstown Rd., Stoverstown (Spring Grove), PA 17362.
