York County's first medical marijuana dispensary has state approval to open, but first it needs some employees.

Knox Medical, in Penn Township, will host a job fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Tuesday, March 20, seeking at least six employees, according to company spokesman Scott Klenet.

Company officials will be on site at the facility, 648 Frederick St., looking to fill several positions, including general manager, assistant manager and customer experience specialists.

Under state law, the general manager must be a licensed physician or pharmacist.

For other open positions, Klenet said the company is looking for applicants who can show the ability to be compassionate and respectful to potential customers, who would be patients with any of 17 qualifying conditions, including AIDS, autism, cancer, epilepsy, post-traumatic stress disorder, chronic pain and Crohn’s disease.

Hopeful applicants can RSVP to the job fair online at www.eventbrite.com and send their resumes to careers@knoxmedical.com.

Knox Medical received final approval from the state Department of Health on March 2, but Klenet said the company hasn't yet scheduled an opening date.
