Veronica Mae Summers

Veronica "Ronnie" Mae Summers passed away on 03/21/24 at age 81. She was born in Wrightsville, Pa. to Norman Frey and Alma Frey. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband of almost 50 years, Dr. Bruce Summers, and her two siblings, Iris Detter and William "Butchie" Frey.

Veronica raised three children in York, two daughters and a son. During mid-life, "Ronnie"pursued a nursing career. She was very proud of her work at York Hospital, and in home health nursing, as well as her volunteer time as spokesperson for screenings for the prevention of colon cancer which she spoke about on local television. Veronica also spent over 20 years working with her husband in his successful podiatry practice.

She was an exceptional seamstress and could design and sew anything, a skill she learned from her grandmother, and she passed on to some of her granddaughters.

Burial was by Etzweiler Funeral Home of York in Fairview Cemetery Wrightsville, Pa.
