Robert W. Diehl

Robert Wayne Diehl, 84, passed awayApril 11, 2024. He was the husband of the late Catherin Mary Diehl. Born on August 27, 1939 in Mount Wolf, Pa, he was the son of the late Leonard and Lottie Diehl.

Robert proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was a member of the Mount Wolf VFW, the Elks and Legion club. He was a very caring and selfless person who treasured his friends, family and army brothers. Robert was proud of his days in the Army; he traveled through Europe and slept in Notre Dam Cathedral during his tour of duty in the Cold War. Robert was a fantastic father, grandfather, brother, son and soldier. He touched many lives and will be greatly missed.

Robert leaves to cherish his memory, two daughters, Kathy L. Diehl McDonald and Kimberly Manning; grandchildren, Dylan Holley, Devan Holley and Victoria Manning; great-grandchildren, Leom Holley, Jasmine Frey, Randy Frey and Joseph Mathis; siblings, Audrey Kraft, Joann Heckert, Phyllis Plowman and Tom Diehl; and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by daughter, Kelly Shurtz; and siblings, Leonard Diehl Jr, Jay Diehl, Jack Diehl and Gary Diehl.

A Graveside Service will be held on May 11, 2024, 10:00 am., at Manchester Union Cemetery with the York County Honor Guard preforming military rites. Gladfelter Funeral Home, Inc. is entrusted with the arrangements.
