Ruth Ann (Holcomb) Seager, 84, of Yoe, passed away peacefully at WellSpan York Hospital on Monday, May 6, 2024. She was the beloved wife of the late Harry S. Seager, Jr.

Mrs. Seager was born in Gip, West Virginia on February 5, 1940 and was the daughter of the late Charles R. and Mary F. (Bailey) Holcomb.

Ruth was a barber for many years and had the honor of cutting astronaut John Glenn’s hair before his space flight. Following her career as a barber, she worked for Gichner Shelter Systems for over 25 years until her retirement. She enjoyed attending auctions and flea markets and running around with her best friend, Barb Carman. Mostly she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by her two sons, David W. Seager and his wife Keri and Jeffrey S. Seager; stepson, Harry S. Seager, III; grandchildren, Jareth Seager, Charlotte Seager, Jennifer Forthman, Tucker Darby, Ariel Darby, Ryan Seager, Crystal Seager and Eric Seager. She is also survived by a brother, Roy Holcomb; sister, Susan Wharton, as well as her best friend, Barb Carman. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her stepdaughter, Kathy Bailey, and seven siblings: Glenn Holcomb, Billy Ray Holcomb, David Holcomb, Linda Holcomb, Shurl Lee Holcomb, Delores Jean Holcomb and Jerry Holcomb.

A viewing will be held for Ruth from 5:00 -7:00 PM on Sunday, May 12, 2024 at The Austin H. Eberly Funeral Home, Inc., 104 W. Main St., Dallastown. Then again at the funeral home on Monday, May 13, from 10:00 -11:00 AM, with a funeral service beginning at 11:00 AM. Interment to follow in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens.
