Albert “AL” Henry Jordan, 89, of York Haven, passed away, Monday, May 6, 2024, at York Hospital. He was the husband of Ruth A. (Schaffner) Jordan whom he married 64 years ago on March 26, 1960.
Al was born February 21, 1935, in York and was the son of the late Henry and Mary (Witmer) Jordan.
He graduated in 1953 from Manchester High School in Manchester, PA. He was employed by Penn Dot and retired in 1997. He was a member of Strinestown Gun Club, Teamsters Union, and a former member of Ambassador Bible Chapel. Al was inducted into Central York County League Baseball Hall of fame in 2001. He was an avid baseball player and little league coach his entire life, loved his hunting trips and visits to the mountains with his family and friends. His family was the most important thing to him, and he was fiercely protective of them and always there when needed. He strived for perfection and stood tall in the eyes of everyone around him. He was a great husband, daddy, pap and friend. Al proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps.

In addition to his wife, Ruth, Al is survived by his son, Bobby Jordan of York; his daughters, Staci Spangler and her husband Robert and Tonya Garber and her husband Randy both of Zions View, PA; seven grandchildren, Kolt, Matthew, Justin, Kaylah, Eric, Amber, and Alisha; eleven great grandchildren; his brother, Stanley Jordan of York Haven, and his sister, Brenda Worley of Manchester. Al was preceded in death by his two grandchildren, Nathan and Cheylin Garber; his brother, Gary Jordan and his sister, Delores Walker.
His funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM, Saturday, May 11, 2024, at Diehl Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 87 South Main Street, Mount Wolf. His viewing will be from 10:00 to 11;00 AM Saturday at the funeral home. His burial will be in Quickel Cemetery in Zions View, PA. Officiating at his service will be Reverend James Winter, Sr. Full military honors at the graveside will be provided by the York County Veteran Honor Guard.
