Police: Hanover man stabbed girlfriend's dad

A Hanover man is accused of stabbing his pregnant girlfriend's father after he pushed her on Sept. 21 according to authorities.

"You must not care about your grandchild at all. You might not see this one," Travis Matthew Jarocki said to the man during a scuffle, charging documents state.

Hanover Police say Jarocki, 33, stabbed the man in the 500 block of York Street that  morning.

Jarocki, of the 100 block of Spring Avenue, is charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, recklessly endangering another person and terroristic threats.

Alleged stabbing: Officer Christine Zumbrum responded to the scene around 10 a.m. and found Jarocki and his girlfriend in the area of Pleasant Street and Baer Avenue, charging documents state.

She ordered the two to sit in the grass and drop what they were holding, officials said.

Jarocki's girlfriend had blood on phone chargers she was carrying in a purse as well as on her right hand and on her feet, according to police.

She told authorities that Jarocki and her father got into a fight because she was getting hit by her father, documents state. Jarocki stabbed the other man and said "I told you not to f—ing touch her" and that he hated his guts, officials said. 

Jarocki told police that his girlfriend's father pushed her and that he "f—d him up" with his hands, court documents state. He said he thought the victim gave up, but the father came back into the room and threw a long "steak-type" knife toward Jarocki, missing him, according to police.

Jarocki said he threw a knife at the victim as he was leaving the apartment, and the knife did not hit him, charging documents state.

Jarocki told authorities that he blacked out during the fight and that the victim fell on the knife he was holding, police said.

The victim spoke to police and said Jarocki had stabbed him, according to officials. The man was taken to York Hospital for treatment, police said.

Jarocki was arraigned on the charges later that afternoon. He was sent to York County Prison in lieu of $100,000 bail. As of Sunday, Sept. 30, he remained imprisoned. 

He does not have an attorney listed.

His preliminary hearing is scheduled for Oct. 18 at District Judge Dwayne Dubs' office.
