Police: York City woman stabbed friend

A York City woman is accused of stabbing her friend during an argument, according to police.

York City Police say Amelia Acevedo-Rosado stabbed her friend in the 700 block of West Princess Street on Friday, Sept. 21.

Acevedo-Rosado, 36, of the 700 block of West Princess Street, is charged with aggravated assault, simple assault and making terroristic threats.

Alleged assault: The victim was near Acevedo-Rosado's home around 4:30 p.m. that day when Acevedo-Rosado called her and asked her to come by, charging documents state.

Police say the woman drove to Acevedo-Rosado's home and got out of her car,  and Acevedo-Rosado began arguing with her.

Acevedo-Rosado then went for her neck with a knife, but the victim put her left arm up for protection and was cut, according to authorities.

Acevedo-Rosado then began hitting the woman in the face, accusing her of having sex with the father of Acevedo-Rosado's unborn child, charging documents state.

While this was happening, someone was holding the victim down, but the victim couldn't see because of the "ferocity" with which Acevedo-Rosado was striking her, officials said.

The assault happened while the victim's two children sat in the back seat of her car, according to court documents.

Threats: After the alleged assault, police say the victim received threatening phone calls from private numbers and Acevedo-Rosado.

Acevedo-Rosado told the woman that if she said anything to anyone she would hurt her and her children, court documents allege.

She also told the victim that any time she saw her she would "beat her ass," officials said.

The woman suffered an injury to her left upper arm and her left eye, according to court documents. She was treated at Memorial Hospital.

Charges for Acevedo-Rosado were filed Wednesday, Sept. 26, and she was arraigned on the charges that day.

She was remanded to York County Prison but is free on $5,000 bail. Acevedo-Rosado does not have an attorney listed.

Her preliminary hearing is scheduled for Oct. 10 at District Judge Joel Toluba's office.
