UPDATE: Thursday's homicide victim died of multiple gunshot wounds, coroner says

A 31-year-old man who was killed early Thursday morning in York City died as a result of multiple gunshot wounds, according to the York County Coroner.

Quinton Jacobs, of the 800 block of East Poplar Street in York City, was found dead Thursday by York City Police. 

Police responded to the 1000 block of East Market Street about 12:36 a.m. to a reported shooting, according to police.

Officers said they found Jacobs, who had been shot while outside. He died as a result of his injuries, police said in a news release.

York City Police are investigating. No arrests had been made as of 1:30 p.m. Thursday.

The case was ruled a homicide, York County Coroner Pam Gay said Sunday.

It is the sixth homicide in York City this year and the 11th in York County, according to the coroner.
